Geraldine Ann Nelson, previously of Sedona, died Dec. 9 in Scottsdale.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Mazzola, she is survived by her daughter Sharon (Dennis) Azevedo of Phoenix; her son Thomas Vacala of Ramona, Calif.; her daughter Patricia (Thomas) Shands of Chino Valley; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, Jan. 14, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with ashes to be scattered in Sedona. Donations may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
