Elbert McCants, 81, of Cottonwood, died Jan. 8.

He was born Sept. 15, 1930, in Texas.

A resident of Cottonwood for 21 years, he was a retired military sergeant first class who fought in the Korean War and received two Purple Hearts.

He is predeceased by his wife Irene.

He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Donnelly; and sons Danny McCants and Larry McCants.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Greer’s Mortuary of Sedona on Friday, Jan. 20, at 10 a.m.
