Visitors to the Sedona Public Library can enjoy seeing what has become an annual tradition, as the library’s Christmas village display is out for public viewing during normal business hours.Marlene Conklin sets up a Christmas village Dec. 2, at the Sedona Public Library in memory of Betty M. Pepper, who passed away in 2009. Pepper had set up a Christmas village after Thanksgiving every year and after her passing away, the library has kept her tradition alive for families to enjoy each year. Volunteers bought the village at auction to keep it in the library.

The display — a collection of ceramic store fronts, houses and other buildings along with people and a train — shows a village in the midst of the holiday season.

The big draw tends to be children, according to longtime library volunteer Marlene Conklin.

“We just love it when little guys come in,” Conklin said.
