Pam Vivar finishes up a night of work at Sedona Red Rock High School, where she is employed part-time as a custodian. Vivar, 60, lives in Cornville and also works during the day as a caregiver in Cottonwood.Pam Vivar has been in the Verde Valley for 34 years, and she’s held numerous jobs since moving to the area from California in 1979.

Ultimately, it was family that brought her here, after first her aunt and uncle and then later her parents moved to Sedona and Cornville.

They bought a piece of property, in ’77 or ’78, some time around then.

“They told me I ought to move out here, and so I came out. At first I didn’t like it, but it grew on me.”
