Sedona’s planning and community development director will be leaving his position in January to return to Auburn, Wash., which is where he came from before accepting the position here in February. He will serve as Auburn’s newly-formed planning and public works director.

Numerous messages left for Snyder this week seeking comment were not returned.

Sedona Mayor Rob Adams said Snyder will be missed for many reasons.

    The city needs to stop hiring people who are using these city jobs as stepping stones. Never had any intent of staying here.

    The city needs a real plan first from someone who can actually see.
    Maybe go way out on a limb and look at cottonwood az.
    They do real stuff! We do dumb stuff!
    Like sewage parks, and gravel dog parks, failed venues, falling domes and lack of attractive anything. If was not for the rocks you guys would be broke! (like the service workers who try to live here.
