Part of the Sedona Public Library’s summer programming for kids has been devoted to providing a variety of fun and educational presentations and activities for children, and Wednesday, July 16, will be no different as Alex Rovang presents Kids Garden for Humanity at 11 a.m.Kids can learn the fun and educational aspects of gardening from Alex Rovang, who presents Kids Garden for Humanity on Wednesday, July 16, from 11 a.m. to noon.

Rovang, the vice president of Gardens for Humanity, said that he will present a free-flowing talk about gardening, focusing on making it fun and engaging for kids.

“It’s going to be sort of an informative and engaging discussion about plants and how to grow them,” he said. “I guess sort of the art of nature.”

Also representing Sedona Recycles, Rovang previously presented a discussion at the library about recycling, and he said that he will be using a similar approach to gardening that he used in the past.

“The last one I did on recycling I pretty much talked to these kids for two hours and they loved it,” he said. “I go kind of off-the-cuff and just draw things, relate it with stories, connect with the kids and then let them share their thoughts and let them go. There’s a reinforcing that goes on with them so that they feel more engaged.”
