Marissa Luque has changed schools a few times, but she said she’s finally making friends in eighth grade at West Sedona School.Marissa LuQue, center, joins her friends Allysa Sprague, left, and Robyn Reeder by the side of State Route 89A in Uptown, on Tuesday, Nov. 26, greeting passersby with uplifting and positive homemade signs. Students in the Sedona-Oak Creek School District are currently out of school for Fall Break, leaving many of them to get creative with how to spend their free time.

Luque, 14, said she spent most of her time at Beaver Creek School, but that her parents had her change because of bullying.

“I went [to Beaver Creek] since about kindergarten until fifth grade,” she said. “And then I moved to Clarkdale, and then I moved from Clarkdale to the Cottonwood school, and then I moved from the Cottonwood school back to Beaver Creek, and now to West Sedona. I was bullied."
