Arizona State Rep. Ruben Gallego of Phoenix [D-District 16] is confident that someday soon marijuana use will be legal in the state.

Gallego, the assistant house minority leader, is working on legislation that would regulate and tax marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol. The legislation would include a strictly-enforced age limit for purchasing and using marijuana.

“The issue of marijuana regulation is pragmatic,” he said from Washington, D.C. “Regulating marijuana takes sales off the street and puts them in a controlled environment.”
