A federal grand jury indicted Randey Faulkner, 58, along with three others, after they allegedly transported 560 pounds of marijuana to Pennsylvania.

According to Mary Bippus, public information officer for Assistant U.S. Attorney Susan Brooks of Indiana’s southern district court, the indictment says on March 30, the suspects paid $230,000 in Tucson for 560 pounds of marijuana and took it to Pennsylvania.

Faulkner, owner of Sedona Tire & Auto; Stephen Larsen, 60, of Cornville; Dennis Lothamer, of Yulee, Fla., 58; and Robert Shank, 57, of Rimrock and Waveland, Ind., are all being indicted on non-narcotic controlled substance charges for activity between October 2006 and April 2007.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Melanie Conour, prosecutor for the case, said each of the four indicted could face up to 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $2 million.

FBI agents raided Faulkner’s home in Camp Verde on April 4 and Sedona Tire on April 5.

The FBI, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and Safe Streets Task Force conducted an investigation which reportedly revealed Faulkner, Larsen, Lothamer and Shank were trafficking drugs from Arizona to Indiana and Pennsylvania.

Faulkner, Larsen, Lothamer and Shank are being prosecuted in Indiana.

Tom Morris, first assistant U.S. attorney for Indiana’s southern district, said the case probably started in Indiana and branched from there.

“In deciding a multiple venue case, there’s all kinds of considerations,” Morris said. “Where is the lead investigating agency? Where do the witnesses live? Where do the defendants live?”

Bippus said Faulkner is at a Volunteers of America facility. VOA is locked-down but not a jail. Suspects are sometimes held at VOA as they wait to go to trial.

Larsen is being held by the U.S. Marshal’s Office and may be facing other charges as well, according to Morris.

The court granted Lothamer pretrial release in Yulee, Fla., and Shank in Waveland, Ind.

A U.S. magistrate judge in Indianapolis will now hear the case. A date has not been set.

The indictment has been released for public access but Morris said the complaint and affidavit are sealed.
