Tim Jessup isn’t just blowing air when he talks about his work with the band named after the windy city — Chicago.Tim Jessup, sound engineer for the band Chicago, works on some of the group’s latest music at his recently completed studio in West Sedona. A mobile version of the studio is in the band’s bus to record while on the road.

Jessup has created two recording studios for the classic rock band, known for songs such as “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?” One of them is a mobile studio, dubbed “The Rig.”

“The Rig” has all the necessary mixing equipment to create a full album and will follow the band while it tours.

Chicago band member Lee Loughnane has lived in Sedona for four years now. While trying to decide on a local business to help create the studios, Jessup said the band went through the phone book.

“It was an interesting set of circumstances that came around,” Jessup said of how he got the job.
