Attention pet lovers: It’s not too late to pick up a 2014 Humane Society of Sedona WOOFnPURR calendar. And the best part is, every cent raised will go toward a good cause.Betsy Klein, marketing and development director of Sedona Humane Society, holds up the two calendars for the 2014 year. They feature Star Burst the cat, which was the longest resident at the shelter and was recently adopted, and Vanillie the dog, which is still up for adoption.

“We’re happy with how it turned out,” said Betsy Klein, HSS’ marketing and development director. “Initially, we were going to do a combined calendar with cats and dogs but then we decided it was best to do one of each. Both have been very popular so far.”

They began the calendar campaign in July and asked for dog and cat owners to take part. Each pledged $250 to have their pet in the calendar and then raised money for the project. Photos of the dogs and cats — 13 of each — were put on the Humane Society’s website where people could vote for the cover. The owner of the cat that garnered the most votes actually donated the cover spot to a shelter cat, Starbust, who has since been adopted.
