The National Association of Women Business Owners Sedona-Verde Valley Chapter held its 11th annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards on Friday, May 9.Janice Dahl, left, hands Karen Russell an award for making people well through diet on at the annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards on Friday, May 9, at a local resort. Nine women received awards this year for their services to the Verde Valley as business owners.

Devoted to honoring women in business, the awards luncheon saw seven awards given to 10 Verde Valley women, with the final award — the Mary Schnack “Spirit of Sisterhood” Award, named for the late founder of the chapter — going to Diane Prescott, of Cottonwood.

“The mission of the Sedona-Verde Valley chapter of NAWBO … is to promote our members, thereby strengthening their businesses and the vitality of the Northern Arizona economy,” current President Patricia Wheat said in an address to the audience.
