Sedona resident Dee Beach was already a published author before her book, “Born to Live in Sedona,” was released, but she feels that it’s this book she was meant to write.Dee Beach, an eight-year resident of Sedona, holds up her newest book, “Born To Live In Sedona,” on Wednesday, March 12. Beach hopes to make it the first of six books that tell documentary-style stories of people who moved to Sedona. “Born to Live in Sedona” can be purchased at Walgreens in West Sedona.

“This book manifested one evening — it was New Year’s Eve back in 2007,” Beach said. “I was at a friend’s home, and it was really chilly that evening. They had lights blinking and bells ringing, and the fireplace was going, and everybody was popping champagne and everything. The main question of the evening was ‘Where are you from?’

“After about four or five rounds of that I went to sit by the fireplace, and I was just internalizing everything that was going on at the time. Then, just like that, it popped in my head: ‘Born to Live in Sedona.’”
