Village of Oak Creek resident Anita Rosenfield has been juggling a busy schedule between her generous work with Sedona Women, the Sedona Jewish Film Festival and the Jewish Community of Sedona and the Verde Valley, doing what she can to give back to the community, including providing scholarships to local students through the Helen Wolfe Scholarship Committee.Anita Rosenfield, a Village of Oak Creek resident, suffers from polycystic kidney disease, which has reduced her kidney function to 15 percent of normal. She will have to undergo dialysis if a donor isn’t found.

Now, though, she’s hoping she can find somebody who will be generous to her as she begins a search for a new kidney.

Rosenfield knew after her father — who suffered from polycystic kidney disease — passed away when she was a teen, that there was some chance that she and her brother would inherit the disorder and one day have to deal with it.

“For a long time, I thought I had really healthy kidneys,” she said. “We have polycystic kidney disease, so you have all these cysts that grow all over your kidneys, and then they compromise the function of the kidneys. I had told my brother that when he needed a kidney, he can have one of mine.”
