Thousands of photographs were taken of the recent 21,227-acre Slide Fire by professionals and amateurs as well as by residents and visitors. Thousands of photographs taken during the Slide Fire will be on display at the Sedona Arts Center. It will exhibit the images from Saturday, July 12, through Sunday, July 20. Proceeds will benefit the Arizona Wildfire and Incident Management Academy and the Slide Fire Disaster Response Fund, established by the Arizona Community Foundation.

Some images were taken during the fire itself and the smoke in and around Sedona while many more have been taken in its aftermath.

According to organizer David Simmer, before the last flame was even extinguished, the Rotary clubs of Sedona were working on a photographic exhibit to honor the firefighters and support the post-fire recovery efforts. He said the clubs believed that the community needed to have an opportunity to celebrate the work of the firefighters and come to terms with risks underscored by the largest fire in the history of the Coconino National Forest.
