Despite the cost coming in higher than originally expected, the Sedona Fire District will move ahead with plans to build a new fire station in Sedona.

Sedona Fire DistrictDuring a special workshop on Monday, June 10, Fire Chief Kris Kazian gave an hour-long presentation on the proposed Fire Station No. 6, which would be built near Chapel Road on State Route 179. Bids for the project were open June 5 with the low bid of $1.944 million coming in from Phoenix-based Danson Construction.

No action to award the bid was taken during the workshop, so the board will have a special meeting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19. At that time, it’s expected the board will approve Danson’s bid and approve funding.

This is good news that the Sedona Fire District will move ahead with plans to build a new fire station in Sedona. I think another one that the district needs to establish a skate park for skateboarder to make for their great recreational resort. Thanks!
