The Sedona Pet Food Bank gave out pet food on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Sedona Seventh-Day Adventist Church, as part of its monthly effort to ensure those in need who also own pets are able to feed and care for their furry companions.Carolyn Bills, Laurie Kilpatrick and Linda Brecher, from left, distribute pet food at the Sedona Pet Food Bank on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Food donations have been enough to make it the first month the pet food bank did not have to spend any of its own money to purchase food.

Founded by Carolyn Bills and Linda Brecher, the program is mostly independent from the Humane Society of Sedona and the Sedona Community Food Bank, but works with both and is set up to specifically help Sedona Food Bank clients who own pets.

The main goal, according to Brecher, is to keep animals from being abandoned when their owners hit hard times.
