The Yavapai Food Council’s Food Neighbors program continues into 2014, and the results from the first collection of the year are in.
In a report released by executive director Amy Aossey, data showed the final tallies for the Feb. 8 food collections in Camp Verde, Cottonwood, Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek.andy Pietch, food pantry coordinator for the Sedona Community Center, shows off the new food pantry at the community center on Friday, Feb. 14, that is used to provide food for the Meals on Wheels program.

Overall, 8,530.9 pounds of food made it to the collection sites in 559 green donation bags, from 686 individual community donors.

Adding up totals from the launch of the program in August 2013, Yavapai Food Neighbors has now brought in 31,498 pounds in 1,528 bags.
