Monday, May 27 — Memorial Day — will see Cornelius and a small group of friends begin their annual raffle to benefit the VA Medical Center in Prescott, selling raffle tickets at both the Oak Creek Country Club and Weber’s IGA in the Village of Oak Creek from noon until around 3 p.m.; tickets are $10 for one or $25 for a pack of three.

"Weber’s told me the parking lot is all mine," Cornelius said with a grin. "We’ll also have a couple guys at the golf club selling tickets, too."

Prizes range from hotel accommodations and golf games to gift cards and gift certificates for various businesses across Northern Arizona, with 59 prizes in all being raffled off on Saturday, Dec. 7, in honor of Pearl Harbor Day. Tickets will be available for purchase during the six months leading up to the raffle.
