Gardens for Humanity's Greening Harmony program has begun hosting events, with two slated for August and September, as part of the project's aim to create greater unity within the Harmony Hills neighborhood.

Greening Harmony, a grassroots community project associated with Gardens for Humanity, teaches gardening skills, environmental sustainability and nutritional education to improve the personal health of residents living in Sedona’s Harmony Hills neighborhood. Both of the upcoming events will be held at the Sedona Community Center, where the program has been cultivating a garden that serves as a linchpin for the project.

Readers may remember that the organic vegetable garden at the center was recently ravaged by a hungry javelina in June, but Greening Harmony's Gwynne Reese said that their garden was spared by the peckish peccary.
