Following a 30-day grace period, the ordinance became effective Oct. 24. Greg and Mark Luckey also registered as a civil union couple  Nov. 15, with more expected in the near future.

“We are honored to be the first Sedona couple to show our respect to Mayor [Rob] Adams and the council who supported this important ordinance,” Pivnik and Broude said in an email to the Sedona Red Rock News.
