Within the next six months, the Sedona City Council will see four new faces as eight council and two mayoral candidates vie for those open seats.Cliff Hamilton, Angela LeFevre, Scott Jablow, Ronald Budnick, Robert O’Donnell, Tom Lamkin, Jon Thompson and Sandy Moriarty, from left, meet with the Democrats of the Red Rocks on Thursday, June 19, at Olde Sedona Bar and Grill. Council members Barbara Litrell, Mike Ward and Dan McIlroy, as well as Mayor Rob Adams, have all chosen not to seek reelection.

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, registered city voters will be asked to choose three new council members from a field that includes Ronald Budnick, Jerry Frey, Scott Jablow, Tom Lamkin, Angela LeFevre, Robert O’Donnell, Rio Robson and Jon Thompson. Cliff Hamilton and Sandy Moriarty are the candidates for mayor.

To kick off the election season, the Democrats of the Red Rocks hosted a candidates’ forum on Thursday, June 19, at the Olde Sedona Bar & Grill. All but Frey and Robson attended.

Each candidate was given two minutes to introduce themselves followed by written questions from the packed audience. It culminated in a two-minute closing from each.
