Holiday Central Sedona has more to offer the weekend of Dec. 21 with a Holiday for Our Local Heroes. The event is coordinated as part of Wrap It at the “Y” at the roundabout of State Routes 89A and 179. Mark Beneitone and Ryan Fischer, in the bucket, and Lars Romig, Paul Chabot and Angel Morales, from left, train on the ladder truck Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Fire Station No. 4 in Uptown. On Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 21 and 22, Wrap it at the “Y” will host a holiday fundraiser with Sedona firefighters and Arizona Rangers to collect donations for Granite Mountain Hotshot Families.

As the name might suggest, the event honors local public servants in the Verde Valley, including mounted rangers and firefighters.

Kathy Lee, social media and public relations manager for Wrap It at the “Y,” had a hand in picking the groups represented.

“We wanted to give the community the chance to meet local heroes and express their gratitude,” she said.
