You may have noticed the major change on today’s issue of the Sedona Red Rock News. The new logo and front-page design allow us to modernize and to stay on top of current design trends in our industry.

Sedona Red Rock News has changed its masthead starting in 2013, in celebration of 50 years of serving the Sedona community. On Wednesday, we ran the original masthead on the top and today we unveil the new masthead with special sidebars that can help the reader find items of interest within the newspaper.

The new layout also gives us an additional 2 inches to move stories and photos toward the top. This is being done to help our readers to see all the front-page news at a quick glance.

This does not mean the NEWS is changing any of its philosophy to provide complete local coverage for the residents of the Sedona area. We have done so for the past 50 years and will continue this tradition for years to come.

In fact, it actually enhances our commitment to our community that things do change and that we are on track to provide you with the best newspaper that serves the entire Sedona area.

The ownership and entire staff of the Sedona Red Rock News would like to again thank the residents of the Sedona area for allowing us to serve you for the past 50 years.

What Robert S. and Loretta Larson started 50 years ago will be carried as a legacy that future generations of Larsons promise to continue now and into the future. The people we have met, helped through charitable giving and that have encouraged us so much are the main reason we stay to serve the community.

A guiding principle of the organization has always been to put the best interests of the people first. In the last 50 years, the Sedona Red Rock News has been at the forefront of every major issue that contributed to the progress and welfare of this community.

Faithful readers appreciate the quality of our product and know it is routinely recognized by our peers as one of the best, if not the best, twice-weekly newspaper in Arizona.

As the newspaper of record in the city of Sedona, the NEWS takes its responsibilities very seriously. We have a clear understanding of our obligation to provide readers with the most accurate, objective, up-to-date community news and to support people and organizations that work to make Sedona a better place to live.

It’s a family tradition we have honored for the past 50 years. It is a tradition that we will carry forward for many years to come.
