Former Sedona resident Jacqueline “Jackie” Harmony has hit the road with her husband and two dogs, traveling all over the country to compete in downhill mountain biking competitions and winning major championships.

She defeated Camila Nogueria of Argentina and Bruna Ulrich of Brazil. Harmony is the 2012 National Downhill Champion, 2012 Pro GRT overall winner, and now has won the Pan American race two years in a row.Most recently, Harmony won gold at the 2013 Pan American Continental Mountain Bike Championships in Tucuman, Argentina, but she admitted that due to the intense competition, it was a close race.

“For the past three years I have been attending the Pan American Continental Championships. ... This race brings downhill racers from all the Americas to crown the fastest,” Harmony said. “I barely beat out my competition by 22 seconds, and Camila [Nogeira, silver medalist] was from Argentina.”
