The sound of slamming metal echoed across the baseball field at Sedona Red Rock High School on Thursday, April 18. Students felt the drama of an alcohol-related auto accident in the Every 15 Minutes Program, which took place Thursday and Friday, April 19.

Sierra Hatler-Stefick is carried out of the car in a mock car accident by two Sedona Fire District firefighters at Sedona Red Rock High School on Thursday, April 18. The Every 15 Minutes Program demonstrates to juniors and seniors the consequences of drinking and driving with a staged accident, mock trial and mock funerals for the two girls “killed” in the crash.The program staged a mock accident, emergency rescue, trial and funeral, presenting lifelike experiences in a bold “in your face” way to graphically illustrate to students the dangers of drinking and driving. The program demonstrates the consequences on friends and family.

This powerful program challenges students to think about drinking, personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives are involved.
