Jennifer WesselhoffLike many communities across the country, Sedona has not been immune to the impact of the ongoing government shutdown, which has included the closure of all national parks and monuments including the Grand Canyon, Montezuma Castle, Montezuma Well and Tuzigoot.

Sedona Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jennifer Wesselhoff said it's still too early to tell what kind of an impact the shutdown may have on area businesses as it enters its second week.

"It's hard to say what the initial impact is on Sedona, however, we should all be very concerned about the long-term implications of the partial closure on our community, region and state," she said. "In the short term, we are seeing positive and negative impacts as it relates to that disbursement."
