Connecting generations of girls and women through mentoring is the mission of the Sedona Mentoring Circle, a newly formed group of Sedona women, founded by Sunday Larson.

Sedona Mentoring Circle registration begins at 9 a.m. The event is free, but attendees will be asked to donate two hours of time to the YMCA.“This organization supports girls in acquiring the life skills that will develop their strong and passionate personal voices, to encourage them in assuming the leadership of their own lives, finding inspiration from the experience of those who went before them, and to share with others the teaching of their experiences,” Larson said.

Larson, who founded the Sedona Mentoring Circle in 2011, graduated from the University of Utah with concentrations in dance, art, women’s literature and folklore. She selected semiotic analysis, the study of signs and symbols, as the focus for her graduate work in art history. Larson is certified as a creativity coach by the Creativity Coaches of America. She is also the author of “The Spinning Game: A Sedona Story” and “Secret of the Missing Crown: A Pilgrimage of Change,” which was published in 2012. In 2013 she will release “Fabulous Awakening: The Romance of a Lifetime,” a novella celebrating the charms of the awakening woman, and “9 Charms for Spinning Your Brand New Story,” the first edition of a series of inspirational booklets.
