Sedona City Attorney Mike GoimaracBefore the Sedona City Council could vote at its meeting Wednesday, April 17, to cancel the contract with Tiffany Construction for the Posse Grounds Pavilion at the Barbara Antonsen Memorial Park, City Attorney Mike Goimarac suggested council members go into executive session to discuss liability and culpability of the companies involved in the construction and design of the dome.

The dome collapsed in August, due to inadequate shoring, according to  forensic investigators hired by the city. In executive session, council members reportedly discussed possible soft costs — an industry term for construction expenses not directly included in labor or materials — the forensic investigation into the dome’s collapse, attorneys’ fees and whether or not the design firm, Arcadia Design Build, had any culpability in the collapse.
