The Sedona-Oak Creek School District school bus on the Yellow Elementary and Village of Oak Creek route was involved in a two-vehicle collision with a delivery truck at the intersection of Van Deren Road and Mesquite Avenue at 3:37 p.m. Thursday, April 9.

“The bus was sideswiped … and all students are safe as the scene of the collision is assessed,” SOCSD wrote in an email to parents shortly after the incident.

Van Deren Road between Mesquite and Apple Avenues was closed during the response.

Students were transferred to a second SOCSD bus at 4 p.m. and returned to West Sedona School, where Principal Alisa Steig coordinated parent pick-up.
