April 8, 1959 — Dec. 17, 2020
Lorna Jean Riley Menard, 61, died peacefully with her husband Richard Menard by her side on Dec. 17, 2020, at their home in Sedona of bone and liver cancer.
Lorna was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She had a vivacious personality and always made everyone around her know just how special they were. She was selfless and always put the needs of others before her own. She made friends everywhere she went. She enriched everyone’s life with love, joy, understanding and laughter.
She could accomplish anything she set her mine to. Her life was a living example of that. She first fought breast cancer, then bone and liver cancer for seven years. Every day of her life, she faced the day with courage, strength, conviction and positivity. Lorna was “one in a million.” There will never be anyone as special as her.
Lorna was preceded in death by her father Richard Riley; and is survived in life by her husband Richard Menard; daughter Marisa Phillips; grandaughters Hailey and Hayden Phillips; mother Dorthia Riley; brother Bob Riley; sister-in-law Peg Riley; niece and nephew Kassie and Kole Riley; best friend and business partner Lawrence Abril; and best friend since childhood Susan Schoepke.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, at 295 Arroyo Piñon Drive in West Sedona from 10 a.m. until noon.
